From Community Voice To National Voice

Movement is Life has long believed that improving women’s health requires more than individual change. It requires listening to communities, advancing evidence, and engaging the leaders and institutions that shape healthcare.

Honored to have Worked Alongside Congressman John Lewis

Our work has brought community voices, healthcare professionals, researchers, advocates, and policymakers together to raise awareness of barriers to better health and mobility—and to help move meaningful solutions forward.

Movement is Life was honored to work alongside the late Congressman John Lewis in support of the Equality in Medicare and Medicaid Treatment (EMMT) Act, legislation designed to bring greater attention to health disparities and social drivers of health within Medicare and Medicaid innovation models.

Following Congressman Lewis’s passing, the legislation was renamed the John Lewis Equality in Medicare and Medicaid Treatment Act, carrying forward his legacy and vision. Subsequent versions of the legislation have been introduced in Congress by leaders including Senator Cory Booker and Representative Terri Sewell.

This work represents an important part of Movement is Life’s history and reflects a principle that continues to guide us today: the experiences of women and communities should help inform the policies, research, and systems that shape their health.

As we enter our next chapter, we are building on that foundation by creating new opportunities to connect community voice, research, education, advocacy, and policy.

Advancing Women’s Health Through Research, Policy & Partnership

Meaningful change starts with good questions, strong evidence, and the willingness to work together.

Movement is Life welcomes opportunities to collaborate with researchers, healthcare organizations, academic institutions, community partners, advocates, and others working to improve the health and well-being of women and girls.

If you are conducting research, developing a community-based study, exploring a policy initiative, seeking community engagement, or looking for a partner to help elevate important findings, we would like to hear from you.

Depending on the opportunity and alignment with our mission, Movement is Life may be able to support efforts through collaboration, community connections, education, advocacy, communications, or other forms of partnership.
